Time out!

In Hawaii ?
Look carefully.
You can see the shark!

Hawaii? No. It is Salt Lake City!!!

We went to Antelope Island to enjoy the nice beach. We had a wonderful time playing football, frisbee, and swimming (floating).

Girls Camp

I had the wonderful opportunity to go to girls camp. I was helping with the cooking. My cooking skills improved with all camp preparation. This calling was really a blessing for our family.
We went to Mia Shalom. It is in the mountain, about 10000 feet elevation. So, we had tons of snow! Right in the middle of June.
We had a spiritual and a fun time.

Spring and Summer

I couldn't resist taking these pictures! We love the colors of the trees. It's been a long winter, so having flowers on the trees was unexpected.

We went to a cooking conference for Young Women's camp. They thought us the principles of Dutch oven, box oven and cooking without utensils. One of the demonstrations of this meeting was home made ice cream. We couldn't believe it was possible, so we tried it as a FHE activity. The results were: Yes, it really works! and it's fun!
1 cup milk.
1 cup of whipping cream.
1/2 cup of sugar.
Some vanilla.

Place all ingredients in a zip/lock bag. Place ice cubes in a bigger plastic bag with rock salt. Place the ice cream bag inside the big plastic bag and shake, shake, shake, shake!

We had a wonderful visit with Paul and Melissa. We played games and decorated fruit pizzas. It was fun!

Mother's birthday

We celebrated my mother's birthday this last March. Here are some pictures.
I got a really good recipe for sugar cookie dough. It works great, so we decided to try it on a fruit pizza.

We put a layer of cherry glaze pie and some fresh fruit

The best part is when you family enjoys it!

And then, the creative part came. Brownie cookie dough with cream cheese fruit dip. Hmm. Yummy yummy!

I guess, we realized how much we love cooking these fruit pizzas; so, we went on, this time three layers: sugar cookie doug, cherry glaze pie, and cheese cream dip on top!!

We had a fun, delicious cooking time.

Christmas is not over!

In Mexico we do not have a Santa Claus that comes on the 25 of December. But, we have The Wise Men that came to Jesus after his birth. So we celebrated The Wise Men's day (January 6th). We went to my mother's place to talk and play some games.

Happy 2011!!

White Christmas!

We had a wonderful time. We had a nice visit with Diana and Eric, Paul and Melissa, Hannah, Katherine and Jason. We celebrated Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, did more cooking and before December ends, it is becoming our tradition to go to the canyon. Alright, It is usually freezing out there but the view is beautiful.
