Halloween 2015

This year we introduced ourselves into the entertainment sector ( relatively speaking in my imagination).  The theme was "Frozen".  After some months of sporadical practice and a day of intensive practice, Andrew and I sang and performed the song "Love is an open door" during the Halloween ward party. It was so fun to do it!!

Motto of the week

"If you want to get a good night's rest, go to bed" - from Little Miss Brainy

"If you don't want a good night rest, don't go to bed" - from Mr. Andrew

By Small and Simple Things

We went to the kids connection center to work on a special project. This time we made a Fall tree with a thanksgiving theme. This was not the fist time we went to the kids connection center; we had gone many times this year, but the difference was that we did not had a pre prepared project provided; we just went to do our own. It was very simple: we made leaves of many fall colors and cut out a tree trunk and branches from a single sheet of brown paper. We glued all the pieces together to form the tree and branches and then added many colorful leaves. We wrote a blessing for which we are grateful for in each leave and added it to the tree.  I mainly worked on all the cutting while Ashley made a craft of her own with Joy. Kayla was just playing with the toys and with Abuelita.  At home we taped our tree on the wall as a remainder for the things that we are grateful for.
Such a simple project provided so much fun!

After this activity, we wen to feed the duck at Riverside Park with Jaime, Amelia, Hyrum, Mary Jane and Joy. Ashley and Kayla loved feeding the geese! Although Kayla preferred to eat the bread instead of giving it to the ducks and geese!

Conversations

Mom: Quieres avena?
Ashley: No want, I want huevo.

LATER AT BED TIME

Reading a book in Spanish:

Dad reading,
Ashley began predicting the next page:
Ashley: Caminan, caminan
Then she leaned toward Dad, and smiling as if to help me understand said "Walking"

Kayla Marie

Kayla Marie was born on June 2, 2014. She was 8 pounds 1 oz. We are very, very excited that she is part of our family. We LOVE her beautifulness, cuteness, chunkiness and wonderful smile. Now she is almost four months. It went super fast. She is becoming very social and energetic. She loves to interact with her sister, her parents, and anyone who wants to get closer to her. She is an absolute beauty!
